In 2010 in Vancouver after winning two gold medals in alpine skiing, Alana Nichols became the first American female to win gold in both the summer and Paralympic Winter Games with her previous win in 2008 in Beijing and her gold in wheelchair basketball. A returning champion in giant slalom and downhill, Nichols will also compete in slalom, super combined slalom and super-G.
