Brighton Zeuner

Skateboarder

At just four years old, Brighton started skating. By age eight, she began competing. At age 12, Brighton won the Vans Park Series World Championships, and on the day after she turned 13, Brighton won gold at X Games in Women’s Skateboard Park becoming the youngest athlete ever to win gold in the 21-year history of the action sports event. Brighton attends Fusion Academy and resides in San Diego, CA, with her parents Brandon and Bridget and her brother Jack. Her interests besides skateboarding include listening to Kali Uchis and Tyler, The Creator. If Brighton stays on track, all roads for her are leading to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympic Games where she will be 16 - the minimum age to compete in the Olympics.

"I am really overwhelmed by all of this, and I just hope it inspires young girls to go after what they want even if they think they are too young. And if another young skater becomes the youngest to get gold, I think it would be awesome for women in skateboarding."

Meet the 15-year-old X-Games gold medalist who could become one of the first Olympic skateboarders

Brighton Zeuner has a Vans sneaker on one foot and a cast, supporting a sprain, on the other. Her look is a clear indication of the two things she loves most: fashion and skateboarding. At just 15 years old, she is excelling at both. At age 12, the competitive skateboarder won the Vans Park Series World Championship, and at age 13, she became the youngest athlete in X-Games’ 21-year history to take home gold. Today, she ranks as the third best female skater in the world on The Boardr Global Rankings Report, and she is one of 16 skaters to make it onto the first-ever USA skateboarding team — a coveted spot that places her as a top qualifier for next summer’s 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
