Nyquist to Compete at 22nd Edition of X Games in BMX Dirt and Park

Santa Cruz, Calif. – Ryan Nyquist started riding bikes at the age of three, competed in his first BMX freestyle competition at 16 and made his first X Games appearance at 18. Now at 37 years of age, Nyquist is not only a legend and household name in both BMX Dirt and Park, he has been invited to compete in both competitions at his 20th X Games which starts today through June 5 in Austin, Texas. BMX Park will be live on Saturday, June 4, at 12 p.m. ET, and BMX Dirt will be live on Sunday, June 5, at 12 p.m. ET - both finals will be aired on ABC.

“Being involved with anything for 20 years is great, but I'm truly excited about being able to ride at a level that would allow me to be a part of such a high caliber event, such as X Games, for 20 years,” Nyquist said. “Throughout that time I've seen so many changes with the events, the sports, and also myself, and it’s really been such a learning experience for me and my riding. The X Games has pushed our riding and sports beyond where we ever could have dreamed. I couldn't be more happy to have been a part of that progression.”
